So you stumbled upon Life Teen @ Christ the King. Maybe your parents kicked you through the door one night, or a friend has been bugging you about it, or maybe you're just curious what the buzz is about. Either way, God knew you were going to end up here right when you did. It was no mistake. So, welcome.
We want you to know right off the bat that you are LOVED-- just the way you are, in all your uniqueness and quirkiness. Loved like you've never been loved before by a God who is not quite like anyone you've met before.
You are also CALLED-- as a young Catholic not to stay exactly the way you are right now, but to do something great with your life. To grow and stretch and ultimately, to imitate Christ.
That’s the whole Jesus deal. He died so you could have abundant life. And that’s what Life Teen is really all about-- helping you find abundant life.
There are a lot of lies out there about what that kind of life looks like. You haven’t always been told the truth. It’s been twisted and hidden-- but we’re here to help you discover it. We’re here to be a place and a people amongst whom you can search out the truth and find it, and where you can be comfortable being yourself while you do.
We‘re working on “building the civilization of love"-- a worldwide civilization in which all people are treated with dignity and respect, in imitation of the kingdom of heaven.
We are not perfect-- far from it. But we try. We aim at holiness. Our goal is clear.
Jesus Christ is how we know what LOVE looks like. He’s how we know what LIFE is.
We invite you to join us.
We invite you to love.
We invite you to life.
"You are young, and the Pope is old... But the Pope still fully identifies with your hopes and aspirations. Although I have lived through much darkness, under harsh totalitarian regimes, I have seen enough evidence to be unshakably convinced that no difficulty, no fear is so great that it can completely suffocate the hope that springs eternal in the hearts of the young. You are our hope, the young are our hope.
Do not let that hope die! Stake your lives on it! We are not the sum of our weaknesses and failures; we are the sum of the Father's love for us and our real capacity to become the image of his Son."
-Pope John Paul II, WYD 2002
